They all deserted Jesus when the soldiers came to arrest him. Even though they spent so much time with him, they did not truly know him until they met the resurrected Jesus who died on a cross and three days later returned to life. It is still possible to know all what the Bible tells us about Jesus and still not know him. To know about someone is not the same as to know someone.
